Ilham Aliyev asked Wang Yi to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping, and expressed gratitude to President Xi Jinping for sending a special representative to attend the CICA Summit in Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev noted that China and Azerbaijan enjoy deep political mutual trust and mutually beneficial economic cooperation, and the Azerbaijan-China comprehensive strategic partnership is flourishing. The consensus he reached with President Xi Jinping during his visit to China last year has been effectively implemented, ushering the bilateral relations into a new stage. Azerbaijan appreciates China’s long-standing strong support for Azerbaijan’s economic and social development and the safeguarding of its national interests. It regards China as a leading force in the rise of the Global South, and believes Chinese modernization has set an example for developing countries including Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is one of the first countries to support and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative. A series of cooperation projects between the two countries have yielded fruitful results. Azerbaijan is ready to strengthen strategic alignment with China and continue to expand cooperation in energy, connectivity and other fields. Azerbaijan welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in the country. The two countries should make good use of the mutual visa exemption to further promote their people‑to‑people exchanges. Azerbaijan firmly adheres to the one‑China principle, fully supports the series of global initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping, appreciates China’s consistent commitment to upholding international fairness and justice and multilateralism, and is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs.

Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping’s sincere greetings to President Ilham Aliyev, and said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China and Azerbaijan have enhanced mutual understanding, mutual trust and mutual support, and the bilateral relations have maintained a strong development momentum with broad prospects. China congratulates Azerbaijan on its thriving national development under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, supports Azerbaijan in following a development path suited to its national conditions, and is ready to strengthen cooperation with Azerbaijan and other relevant parties on the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route), and continue to serve as a reliable long‑term strategic partner in Azerbaijan’s development.
